The head of electric car vehicles and SpaceX founder Elon Musk company Starlink and  Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication has planned to Launch Starlink’s Satellite Broadband Internet across Pakistan.

This plan was decided in a meeting in which a delegation of US-based global satellite broadband provider Starlink consisting of Director Middle East & Asia Ryan Goodnight and Head of Global Site Acquisition Ben Macwilliam called on Minister of IT & Telecom Syed Amin Ul Haque to discuss the Policy & Operation model.

During the meeting, the delegation also expressed to set up in Space of Things & Internet of Things set up in Pakistan.

The Minister mentioned the opportunity that 40,000 Schools, SMEs’s & Enterprise scale-up & Broadband connectivity is an attractive business model apart from unserved & underserved areas.

The delegation also met Secretary IT Dr Sohail Rajput, where he assured for the adoption of SOT & IOT setup with Maximum facilitation.

The Minister pointed the Tele-density of broadband in Pakistan & the win-win situation that will result in the ministry vision “ Broadband for All “ and the PM vision Digital Pakistan.

In recent news, a delegation of the US-based global satellite broadband provider, Starlink, visited the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) headquarters in Islamabad where the Director of the Middle East & Asia, Ryan Goodnight, and Head of Global Site Acquisition, Ben Macwilliam met the Chairman of PTA, Maj General Amir Azeem Bajwa (R), and Executive Director, Frequency Allocation Board.

Both sides had discussed the concept of providing Starlink’s respective broadband services in Pakistan and Starlink’s future plans for connecting Pakistan to their global network.

On the other hand, the chairman of PTA had assured Starlink’s focal people that PTA would properly support their mission in Pakistan by introducing a proper regulatory framework for Starlink’s operations in the country.
