Commander of the Terrestrial Army Congo Lieutenant General Sikabwe Asinda Fall called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ on Wednesday.

According to the media of military wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and scope of military cooperation to include defence, training & security between the two countries were discussed.

COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa emphasized that Pakistan Army is committed to play its part in establishing peace under United Nations (UN) banner and we have rendered numerous sacrifices for this noble cause.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that Pakistan views Congo as a key country in the African continent and we appreciate Congo’s role in regional peace.

The visiting dignitary lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and its role in UN peacekeeping operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He also vowed to enhance cooperation in various fields between the two militaries.

Moreover, ISPR reported that Prime Minister Imran Khan along with key Federal Ministers visited Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Secretariat Islamabad.

Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa was also present.

Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum welcomed the dignitaries.

A comprehensive briefing followed by a discussion on national security and regional dynamics with a focus on the ongoing situation in Afghanistan was held.

Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of Inter-Services Intelligence for national security, stability and prosperity and expressed satisfaction over the professional preparedness to safeguard Pakistan National Interest.
