The World Economic Forum has said that the most important global risks are climate change and social divides in society.

According to the WEF, it is the result of a survey of over 1,000 so-called “opinion leaders” from politics, business and society. Around 84 per cent of them are therefore concerned about the future. Other risks to the world’s population include extreme weather events, infectious diseases, environmental degradation and the risk of a debt crisis.

It also said that only eleven per cent of those surveyed expected an accelerated economic upswing by 2024.
